Breezeline overview
Breezeline, formerly Atlantic Broadband, is a New England-based cable provider offering internet plans starting at $19.99/mo. Breezeline cable customers can also upgrade to internet, TV and phone bundles.
Breezeline internet is headquartered in Quincy, MA, and was established in 2004. Four Breezeline plans are available at 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 Mbps. Breezeline cable is a regional provider with a smaller coverage area; however, if Breezeline is available near you, it offers comparable speeds to big names like Spectrum and Cox for a cheaper starting price. Methodology
We rated the largest internet providers in the U.S. for 2024. Each provider was rated on a scale of 1 to 5 based on over a dozen factors, including speed, cost, availability, fees, customer satisfaction, connection type and more. We also used data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to compare the average speed offered by internet companies in the U.S. to set a baseline for what is considered a good internet speed. Additionally, we analyzed data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to understand how each internet service provider (ISP) fares in customer service and perceived value.
How we reviewed Breezeline
Breezeline earned high marks for its low starting prices and no-contract and no-data cap internet plans. Speeds top out at 1 GB, and availability is limited to 11 states, which detracted slightly from Breezeline’s score. Additionally, Breezeline fees are minimal at first; however, equipment rental fees kick in after 24 months, adding another $15/mo. to the price. Overall, Breezeline got a 3.8 out of 5 for its cable internet service.
Best Breezeline internet plans
Discover the pros and cons of the top Breezeline internet deals.
Base – Cheapest plan
This budget-friendly plan is best for light online use, including e-mail, browsing and connecting less than five devices at once. The Base plan is flexible with no contracts or early termination fees (ETFs) and comes with a free modem and router for self-installation. The drawbacks to this plan include slow upload speeds (up to 10 Mbps) and a $40/mo. price increase after 24 months.
UltraFast – Best for uploading
Breezeline’s UltraFast plan offers up to 50 Mbps upload speed, making it great for uploading social media content, sending emails with large attachments for work or school, and connecting more than five devices at one time. Plus, the download speeds of 500 Mbps can easily support gaming and streaming. However, this plan increases by $60/mo. after two years.
GigaFast – Best for connecting over 10 devices
The fastest Breezeline plan comes with unlimited data and up to 1 GB of speed. Simultaneously gaming and streaming on multiple devices is no problem with this plan, but it might not be available at all locations.
Breezeline cable internet packages
Add TV to your internet plan for less than $20/mo. with Breezeline TV and internet bundles. Breezeline does not offer standalone TV packages. All Breezeline TV packages begin with 50+ channels and a TiVo box. Streaming, live sports and On-Demand are available with most TV plans, and you can customize your TV bundle with channel packages and additional TV boxes.
Plan | Starting price* | No. of live channels | Internet speed |
---|---|---|---|
Base + TV | $39.97/mo. | 50+ | 100 Mbps |
Fast + TV | $49.97/mo. | 50+ | 200 Mbps |
UltraFast + TV | $59.97/mo. | 50+ | 500 Mbps |
GigaFast + TV | $79.97/mo. | 50+ | 1,000 Mbps |
Breezeline vs. other providers
Other high-speed internet providers available in the same coverage area as Breezeline include AT&T, Frontier, T-Mobile 5G and Hughesnet. Among these ISPs, Breezeline offers the cheapest starting price. However, if you need speeds over 1 GB, fiber internet from AT&T or Frontier is your best option.
T-Mobile’s $60/mo. plan has similar speeds to Breezeline’s Fast plan, and while T-Mobile’s pricing starts higher, it offers better value for longevity since Breezeline’s 200 Mbps plan goes up to $80/mo. after two years. Hughesnet is an alternative internet option in rural areas, but its data limits and slower speeds make Breezeline a more attractive choice.
